I want to start describing the planet more, and show a little diversity in geography/formation despite being a big ball of ice.

Survey Dropship. Carries a small team (3 passengers+ equipment+pilot). Rear-loading bay allows for quick offloading and extraction. Capable of hovering in place over land and water, and vertical takeoff/landing. Multitude of sensors in “nose” of the vehicle for geographical surveying and other data collection.

It’s about time to revisit some of these sketches and explore them more, and throw some color on them. But before that, I’ll probably take a break and do some equipment/vehicle sketches to freshen up.

Character/attire study.
Will do faster, more exciting ones later. He’s holding some sort of scanner— might be used for surveying on the surface of Sero 387c, or tech diagnostics. I know it looks a lot like a 90s camcorder. Oh well.

The planet on which Project: Foster is centered around is approximately 70% larger than Earth in diameter, with a molten iron core that is approximately 50% larger than Earth’s. This core generates a strong magnetic field around the planet, much like our own, and the mass and size of the planet makes gravity conditions almost twice that of Earth’s.

Much of the Sero387c’s surface consists of deep oceans and massive sheets of ice. There is very little landmass above sea level (≈16% visible from orbit), though extremely large continental glaciers account for seven times the amount of solid ground as terrestrial floor.

Orbital studies detect little evidence of life on the surface of the planet, but it is hypothesized that there is an abundance of sea life under the ice. The ice allows the light to filter down into the briny oceans beneath, it is estimated that sunlight is not likely the primary source of energy for the planet’s life forms. Scans indicate that geothermal activity on the ocean floor could possibly sustain chemical-based ecosystems, as Sero 387c exhibits tectonic activity. Also, the planet’s oceans have a high concentration of sulphur— a possible by-product of chemosynthesis produced by underwater lifeforms. Further investigation will require submarine exploration.
